Honorably discharged in July 1971, from the U.S. Army, after serving in Vietnam, and Germany, Doug embarked on his financial services career as an agent with the New York Life Insurance Company. In May 1972, he was the youngest agent hired by the company in the Sacramento area. The training and experience were excellent. Fifteen years later, however, independence was sought, and Doug started his own agency. Conceptually this meant the ability to offer products based strictly on their own merit and value, rather than proprietary products, that are often less inviting. This thinking has continued to reign. All products offered are strictly independent. There are no proprietary products offered. Along the way, both the Chartered Life Underwriter (“CLU”), and Chartered Financial Consultant (“ChFC”) designations were proudly earned from The American College, in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.
